The mission of the Children’s Coalition for Fire-Safe Mattresses is to raise public awareness of the toxic fire threat posed by conventional residential mattresses; urge adoption by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission of an open flame standard for such mattresses; and encourage responsible mattress manufacturers to voluntarily provide a fire-safe alternative to consumers.

 

Manufacturers that have earned the CCFSM Seal of Commendation have pledged to support the Coalition's efforts to eliminate the use of "fugitive" chemical treatments in the products we come into contact with.
